• To what extent social media affects creativity?

Social media has become a part of our daily life. Social networks have become accessible by almost all out digital devices including computers, mobile phones, tablet devices, and wearable technology such as Apple watch and Google glasses.

Pros:

Promotional Tools

Social network websites become one of the platform to share content towards marketing and advertising method. Designers promote their work and services in social media. Facebook pages provide a very effective and fast method to promote services and project updates. The advertising feature in Facebook can be used to promote services among Facebook’s huge base 's user.

Get Feedback and Criticism

Followers can comment and give feedback on the presented work. Designer can learn from mistake or improve work from the comment and feedback. In other creative fields such as IT engineers, feedback is very important for IT engineers to enhance their work. IT social networks allow a better feedback experience through displaying the apps and software specifications.

Cons:

Reducing Creativity

Designer easily get distracts by the shares and likes in social media from the creative process. Losing focus on their production and spend their time in review other’s artworks. While there are lots of inspirational resources on social media websites, there should be a balanced use for these websites. In order to avoid these distraction, focus your activities on a number of social networks that help you develop your design skills.

Time Waste

Being addicted towards social networks was wasting your time. Non-stop checking new updates and interacting with others all the time consumes creative thinking time. Designer always spend too much time on social media on their gadget, mobile phone and computer. It will cause time loss in this meaningless thing and can not complete their artwork in time. Social media gives designer communicate with other around the world but they should control the time spend in social media and focus in their artwork business.
